Some effects are not included
Relic - If
Might and
Fury are already covered, alternatives include:
Traits - You can swap out
Fear of Death for
Vital Persistence for extra survivability, good for EoS.
If the chrono does not have
Mimic they may have
Feedback and are able to help during the Gluttony mechanic. However, always ask and never assume this.
Scourge is taken for 2-way Portals using
Sand Swell, provides healing and strong barrier.
Alacrity is applied when giving Barrier (
Desert Empowerment). Sources include:
Note: The pulses from
Sandstorm Shroud are based on your position, so make sure to stand close to the stack when using it.
Be aware that
Nefarious Favor,
Sand Cascade,
Garish Pillar and
Sandstorm Shroud all have a small cast-time of roughly 0.75s and don't trigger instantly when pressing the button.
Abrasive Grit provides
Might and also cleanses conditions when applying Barrier. Additional cleanses/conversion come from
Nefarious Favor,
Putrid Mark or combo-ing the Light field from
Well of Blood.
There will be a number of Malices throughout the encounter that you are required to slow and immobilise. You want to use chill from
Chillblains and
Lesser Chilblains, from
Garish Pillar, and then immobilising them by using
Dark Pact on Cerus (must be facing them) followed by
Epidemic to spread the Immobilise to the Malices once they are close enough to be cleaved.
Scourge is fully responsible for projectile destruction during the Gluttony mechanics using
Corrosive Poison Cloud.
Alacrity - Provided via
Desert Empowerment when applying Barrier.
Might - Via
Abrasive Grit and Relic of the Midnight King.
Fury - Relic of the Midnight King
Protection -
Desert Shroud and
Chillblains &
Garish Pillar (
Transfusion)
Regeneration -
Well of Blood,
Mark of Blood and
Lesser Mark of Blood from dodging (
Mark of Evasion) .
Swiftness -
Locust Swarm (you can precast with
Banshee's Wail and swap back to
Life from Death)
Other Boons:
10% phase is about patiently cycling through your skills so you are always able to top after a slam.
Dagger is fine for the initial slams but after the
Sand Swell it is most comfortable to stay on your staff.
Well of Blood requires your sub-group to stand in it, make use of it during greens or the collection phases.
Dodge as often as you can while circling around the boss to give the group extra healing (
Mark of Evasion).
For the mesmer portal flower the most at danger are typically anyone who went early with a malice so keep an eye out for any low health bars and hit them with a staff skill. (Having large party health bars helps a lot to see)
Stripping boons is done with
Dark Pact,
Sandstorm Shroud and
Serpent Siphon.
Last Rites means nearby allies don't bleed out when downed. You can play around this to keep allies from dying, even when you can't actively res them. If playing Relic of Mercy, you have extremely strong res power.
